Before you start

How registration works

  1. Check you’re eligible

    You must be a licensed or registered acupuncturist with active malpractice insurance and a degree from an ACAOM-accredited or equivalent school (2,000+ hours of acupuncture and TCM training). Some classes, including the 3-Day Cadaver Lab, are open to matriculated acupuncture students. Check individual registration pages for details.

  2. Register and pay

    Select a class below and register. Payment is processed immediately, and you’ll agree to the AcuSport Education Agreement Form and Release of Liability.

  3. Watch your inbox

    You’ll receive a “Registration Pending” email with step-by-step instructions for uploading your documents.

  4. Upload your documents

    Upload your license, diploma and malpractice insurance to our secure Dropbox folder. Your seat is confirmed once we receive them. Acupuncture students must submit proof of matriculation.

The SMAC Program is now offered as a hybrid certification program: 10 recorded webinars and 4 live, in-person classes.

If you’re pursuing certification, you have two full program years to complete all required classes, in any order. You can also take individual classes in person or online without pursuing certification. All live, in-person and recorded courses are NCCAOM and CAB CEU/PDA approved.

All 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 Assessment & Treatment of Injuries (ATI) classes are held at the Marina Village Conference Center, 1936 Quivira Way, San Diego, CA, 8:30am–5:00pm PST, with instructor Ian Armstrong.

To register for individual Sports Medicine Acupuncture (SMA) live, in-person courses, the licensed practitioner must:

  • Understand and agree to the AcuSport Education Agreement Form (below)
  • Provide proof of having graduated from an ACAOM-accredited or equivalent Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture school with a minimum of 2,000 hours of acupuncture and TCM training
  • Be a licensed or registered acupuncturist and provide proof of an active license and malpractice insurance

Payment for all SMAC Program and Foundational classes is processed immediately upon registration.

Your registration is confirmed once all required documents are uploaded to our Dropbox folder. You’ll receive an email with upload instructions after you register.

Discounts such as check payments, C.SMA practitioners, returning students, and Canadian students are available. Check each course’s “Discounts & Coupon Codes” tab for valid offers.

Only one coupon code may be used per class, module, or program. Discounted seats are limited, so register early. Discounts must be applied at registration and cannot be added afterward. If your code doesn’t work, contact [email protected] before submitting your registration.

After you register, you’ll receive a “Registration Pending” email with detailed instructions for uploading your documents. Your registration isn’t complete until we receive all documents.

Make sure each document is clear and legible, saved as a JPG, PDF or Word file, and uploaded to our secure AcuSport Education Dropbox folder.

Required documents

  1. A copy of your current acupuncture license (a photo is acceptable)
  2. A copy of your diploma from an ACAOM-accredited or equivalent Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture school
  3. A copy of your current malpractice insurance

Cancellations received more than 45 days before the course start date may be eligible for a full refund, less a $50 cancellation fee and an 8% transaction fee for credit card payments. All cancellations must be made in writing and emailed to [email protected]. Cancellations made within 45 days of the course start date aren’t eligible for a refund. Registrants who don’t attend without notice also aren’t eligible for a refund.

Refunds are credited to the original credit card used for payment, or by check if applicable.

Partial completions

Participants won’t receive credit for missed sessions or certificates of completion for partially completed courses.

AcuSport Education cancellation terms

AcuSport Education reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances that make the event non-viable. If AcuSport Education cancels an event, registered students receive a full refund of tuition paid. AcuSport Education will not pay for travel costs incurred due to a cancelled class.

I am licensed in my state, province or country to practice acupuncture and herein as participant, hereby release AcuSport Education, dba AcuSport Seminar Series, Inc., herein as Matt Callison L.Ac., from any and all liability of techniques (needle techniques, manual therapies, etc.) taught by Matt Callison L.Ac., faculty, co-teachers, assistants, and employed instructors, and learned and performed by the participant during and after each course offered in the Sports Medicine Acupuncture Certification (SMAC) program.

I hereby release and hold harmless Matt Callison L.Ac., and/or his assistants/representatives as set forth above, as well as the seminar venues (Marina Village Conference Center, Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine, and other class location) from any liability by virtue of any physical injury to other seminar participants or clientele treated by said participant due to needle techniques or manual therapies performed by the participant taking the seminar or by any other injury that may occur on or off of these premises. Further, by agreeing to this release of liability, I can show proof that I am currently a licensed acupuncturist and that I possess and am covered by a current professional liability insurance policy.

If I am an attending student, I hereby release and hold harmless Matt Callison L.Ac. and/or his assistants, as well as the seminar venues (Marina Village Conference Center, Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine, and other class location), or representatives, of any liability if I, under my own discretion participate in the needling of this course. I, as a student, further take all responsibility in keeping current with all regulations concerning students needling in this seminar and will not hold AcuSport Education, Matt Callison L.Ac. and/or all affiliates liable for repercussions against said student.

I give permission for any images taken or recorded of me during the in person, live-gathering workshops by photo, audio and/or video. These images are owned by Matt Callison and he has full rights to use these images for commercial and educational purposes.
