SUMMARY:Trigger Point Needling for the Head\, Neck and Shoulder
DESCRIPTION:This is a hands-on workshop that focuses on the identification\, palpation\, and needling of myofascial trigger points associated with the head\, neck\, and shoulder. The techniques learned in the seminar are invaluable in the treatment of many pain conditions and are easily incorporated into an existing acupuncture practice. At the conclusion of the seminar the practitioner will have an anatomical understanding of trigger points\, as well as peripheral and central sensitization. They will have an understanding of the role trigger points play in the channel system as well as key clinical signs to recognize when employing trigger point needling. Lastly they will have gained confidence in needling sensitive structures of the head\, neck\, chest\, and upper back outside of their standard education. \nClass Date/Time\nJuly 25-26\, 2026 \nSaturday\, July 25\, 2026 8am-6pm\nSunday\, July 26\, 2025 8am-5pm\nInstructor\nBrian Lau\, AP\, C.SMA \nCost\n$495\nCEUs\n17 CEU’s-NCCAOM approved \nEnrollment Requirements\n\nIn order to register for individual Sports Medicine Acupuncture (SMA) live\, in-person courses\, the licensed practitioner must understand and agree to the AcuSport Education Agreement Form (see below).\nFor live\, in-person courses\, the participants must be a licensed or registered acupuncturist and provide proof of having graduated from an ACAOM accredited or equivalent Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture school.\nParticipants must have a minimum of 2\,000 hours of acupuncture and TCM training and provide proof of having an active license and malpractice insurance.\n\nEnrollment Process\n\nRead the AcuSport Education Agreement Form and Release of Liability Form (see tabs below) and indicate your agreement on Registration Form\nComplete the Registration Form during checkout\nUpon submitting your registration below\, you will receive a “Registration Pending” email providing detailed information about how to easily upload required documents to our secure Dropbox folder.
